CỘNG HÒA XÃ HỘI CHỦ NGHĨA VIỆT NAM Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc The High Court of Hanoi, on June 21, 2024, issued Decision No. 262/2024/HSPT-QĐ to dismiss the appeal trial in the criminal case against Bui Van T for the crime of “Appropriating state secret documents.” The decision was made by the Appellate Trial Panel, consisting of Presiding Judge Vu Minh Tuan and Judges Hoang Manh Hung and Ngo Quang Dung, with Court Clerk Vy Minh Huyen and Prosecutor Le Thi Thu Ha participating. The Court noted that after the initial appeal on December 13, 2023, the defendant submitted a request to withdraw the appeal on January 29, 2024. Due to ambiguity in the withdrawal request, the Court sought clarification. The defendant later confirmed during the appellate hearing on June 21, 2024, that he wished to withdraw the entire appeal. Based on Articles 342 and 348 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Court decided to dismiss the appeal trial (docket number 04/2024/TLPT-HS dated January 4, 2024) and confirmed that the first-instance criminal judgment (No. 139/2023/HS-ST dated November 30, 2023) of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Court takes legal effect from the date of this Decision.
