To:

- Provincial Departments of Health;
- Applicants for drug registration in Vietnam.

For the purpose of meeting the people’s demand for drugs, the Ministry of Health issued Official Dispatch No. 2577/BYT-QLD on May 06, 2016 providing guidance on provisional extension of registration numbers of drugs whose registration numbers have expired and pending issuance of new registration numbers. According to the document, the deadline for granting extension of drug registration numbers is December 31, 2016. However, applications for extension of drug registration numbers and supplementary documents thereof are still received in large number the said deadline.

The Ministry of Health hereby announces the extension of the effective period of Official Dispatch No. 2577/BYT-QLD as follows:

The deadline for granting extension of drug registration numbers is now June 30, 2017.

Provincial Departments of Health and applicants for drug registration shall implement this document. Difficulties that arise during the implementation of this document should be reported by Provincial Departments of Health or relevant units to the Ministry for consideration (Drug Administration of Vietnam) for consideration.
